Unleash your spooky side this Halloween season by creating your very own ceramic monster! In this 3-hour workshop led by your instructor, Karen Wise, you’ll learn coil-building and texture techniques to sculpt a unique creature packed with personality. Whether creepy, silly, or somewhere in between, your monster will be a handmade showstopper.

What to expect

  • Learn coil-building and hollow-form techniques to create the base of your monster

  • Sculpt details like arms, horns, eyes, teeth, or scales

  • Explore texture tools and methods to bring your creature to life

  • Your finished piece will be bisque fired and ready for one of two finishing options:

    • Come back during open studio hours to paint and glaze your monster for an additional $30.

    • Or take your fired piece home to paint with acrylics on your own

Why join this workshop?
Get into the spirit of Halloween by crafting a monster that’s entirely your own. Along the way, you’ll learn the fundamentals of handbuilding, including coil construction, hollow forms, and texturing techniques that can be applied to all kinds of clay projects.
