About the Role:
This position is all about keeping things flowing in the studio — from loading kilns to mixing glazes to helping us maintain a clean and welcoming space. You'll work closely with the studio owners and support our community of makers, whether they’re total beginners or long-time potters.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Load, fire, and unload kilns

  • Mix and maintain studio glazes 

  • Reclaim clay, clean tools and surfaces, and keep the studio tidy and functional

  • Be a friendly resource for members 

  • Occasionally assist with workshops, events, or one-off studio projects

You Might Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Have 1-2 years of experience working in a ceramics studio

  • Have experience loading and firing kilns 

  • Enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Pay attention to detail and like things clean and orderly

  • Have a working knowledge of ceramics processes and materials 

  • Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment 

  • Can commit to a part-time schedule (10-20 hours per week with evening and/or weekend availability)

  • Part-time: 10-20 hours per week

  • Schedule: Flexible, with weekend availability needed

  • Location: Camas, WA

  • Compensation: $20+ per hour (depending on experience)

responsibilities:

  • Either teaching a workshop, 6 week course, or 1 time classes in the ceramic arts

  • Studio Operations: Help support procedures regarding daily ceramics studio operations and maintenance, such as loading and unloading kilns, recycling clay, trimming and glazing pieces, and more

  • Community Engagement: Help grow and strengthen our community by expanding our offerings to our students and members and creating a safe and supportive environment


qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience teaching in a ceramics studio

  • Positive attitude when met with unexpected challenges

  • Able to carry up to 25 lbs

  • Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate the needs of others

  • Able to work in a collaborative team environment

  • Salary range: US$27-30/hour (depending on experience)
